Of course, there are a few things we can not get or we can not offer a great deal on. The items we do sell are all great products that we feel good about sending to you. If you want something you don't see, let us know and we'll try to help. At Bike Island we do not harvest your personal statistics, credit card numbers, or email addresses. We don't sell, trade, or exchange any of this info so don't worry...your secrets are safe with us. What? You are not happy with the item you bought from us? How can we help you? We want you to be happy. If you want to exchange it, no problem...we can do that...just ship it back in new condition and we'll send you something else. We will even pay the shipping back to you. If you just do not want it and can not find anything else that you do want, we will refund your money less 10% to cover our original shipping out [this should be 17% - but it is really hard to do 17 percent minus something in your head]. You just ship the offending item back in new condition...Easy returns on BIKE ISLAND. On Bike Island, we use USPS, Fed Ex and sometimes UPS -- Most small items we sell, we send via Priority mail -- 2 to 3 days from here at Bike Island to your door. Larger items we send via the larger truck guys and that takes 3-4 days usually ... kool deal, and we pay for the shipping. SHIPPING BIKES

A: We pay for it to get to you.
We are very fast shippers and our bicycles often go out the same day it's paid for.
These bicycles come in a box that measures approx 52" x 8" x 31".
We use the factory box or better when getting this safely to you.

We only ship to confirmed Billing addresses

WE DO NOT SHIP TO P. O. BOXES!

Q: What's this category "New bikes"?

A: Good question! We just added this. Occasionally, we'll get new pristine bikes in...those are bikes that are factory packed, never built or ridden. No issues. You'll have to complete the partial assembly like with any bike delivered in a box and you'll have to tune it - true wheels, adjust brakes and derraileurs, etc but you're the first person to see these "new bikes".

Q: Some of your "Scratched & Dented" bikes say "new". What does that mean?

It means the bike has not been ridden or ridden only a short distance. Our "New Bike" category offers original factory packed bikes while the Bikes in the "Scratched & Dented" category may have new bikes too but they are not factory packed and will have some cosmetic issues or more - depending on the individual bike.

Q: I bought the wrong size. I don't like the color. My wife won't let me keep it. Will you pay to have it shipped back to you?

A: Sorry...but No. You've got pay to get them back to us. Shipping bikes is expensive so be sure of your size, color, etc. before you bid.

Q: I bought this bike and I have not heard a word from you. Can you please confirm my purchase?

A: We love communication via email and do it quite well. We will always use the email address you provided on your Paypal account. We'll email you as soon as we print your shipping label and the bike is on its way.

Q: Can you ship it to my friend's house so my spouse doesn't find out I bought another bike?

A: What you do in your relationship is your business but we can only ship to confirmed Paypal addresses. No PO Boxes, APO Boxes or any place that UPS does not deliver. Oh yea...make sure your address is correct. There's a $15.00 fee if we have to re-route your package thru UPS.

Q: The bike arrived and the box looks like it's been through a war zone. I'm afraid to open it. What should I do?

A: Relax. This sometimes occurs. More often than not, everything inside is fine. A rear skewer poking thru the box is nothing to get worked up over and is easy to replace.

Q: How do I put this thing together?

A: It's not too hard but you have to have some proper tools (bikes are on the metric system) and some knowledge. If you have never assembled and tuned a modern day bike before - let a professional bike mechanic do it for you. Your safety and the longevity of the bike depends on proper assembly and tuning. If you insist on doing it yourself, bicycle assembly videos are available at park tool dot com and a there's a bunch on You tube. Some of our bikes take special problem solving like installing forks and headsets. If this sounds like a hassle, shop the "New Bikes" section and have a pro build it when it arrives.

Q: The bike I purchased arrived seriously damaged. What will you do for me?

A: We do our best to make sure your bike arrives safely, but sometimes the delivery company is rough and occasional damage may occur. We would like you to first, take a deep breath. It's going to be alright. Next, take a few photos and email them to us. We'll do what we can to make things right but we do not cover parts and labor purchased by you.

Q: Hey, I'm impatient and can't wait for email. Can I call you with a question?

A: We're just like you except opposite! We can't stand the telephone. Actually, we're just on the computer all the time and since sometimes our answers need time to research and we like to send links to helpful sites and products...email us. We'll respond promptly 9-5 CST.

Returns of Bicycles

In the event you just don't want the bicycle, send it back to us. Shipping costs and everything associated with it will be your responsibility. Shipping a bicycle typically costs about $60.00. Make sure it's packaged like you received it. Not upside down, with the parts sprinkled in on top of it, without packing material. You may not want it anymore but please be gentle with it and include a note. All returns that arrive in respectable condition will get their purchase price minus $50.00 refunded.
